How Deep Should Woodchip Mulch Be?

For effective weed suppression, apply woodchip mulch at a depth of 4–10cm. For heavy weed areas, lay a weed membrane underneath before applying mulch for maximum performance.

Please Note: Bark products do settle in transit and when installed, so we always recommend that you add a little extra to allow for settling and compaction - add a minimum of 10% and upto 25% for deeper depths.
